  1. i checked out that mcmaster website and im curious of which butt welds you used? small diameter, big diameter ,length, and thickness. also where did you get the manifold flange? i read somewhere once that do to heat expansion with a stainless steel flange you should cut a line between each runner on the flange, if not the manifold bolts could shear off. just something i thought of while looking at your pics.

  2. DatsunD, my plenum is all aluminum, and so is the stock intake if that is what you plan on using. the only problem with fuel is possible puddeling in the plenum under the carb if it is sitting too low. I did some tuning on my holley two weeks ago and took acouple of laps on a back road by my house, felt awsome at 20lbs!! cant wait to hit the track!

  3. it depends where you live. if it always warm you shouldnt have too many problems. my engine always fires up with little effert but i have heard storys that if it isnt designed well the fuel will puddle and cause problems. im always down for different and unique things when it comes to cars, i shouldnt have said you shouldnt do it for a daily driver, i should have said you may go through some trial and error for awhile, so i would have a reliable vehicle aswell.

  4. i have read maximum boost, corky is a smart guy but i wanted to do a draw through, and it works fine. I still havent driven the skyline much but when the engine was in my 280z it ran 12.79 in denver without the nitrious, i dont know what that is at sea level but it felt pretty fast. i wouldnt do it to a daily driver. the intake manifold is a stock non turbo that was cut up and welded. the carb sits on top of a homemade plenum that feeds right into the turbo. kind of simple but kind of a pain in the ass.

  5. the pump drive gear is the worm gear on the crankshaft. that gear meshes with the gear on the oil pump drive shaft, if the gear on the crank is on wrong the two gears wont mesh. the drive gear on the crank is chamfered on one side, one side will have a different tapper to it, that side faces the main bearing journal. do you own the how to modify your nissan and datsun book??? if so turn to page77 there is a pic of the crank pulley, behind that is the worm gear, than turn to page 93 , read where the headline says install external parts. I hope this helps..

  6. actually its alot better to blow through for a few good reasons. all you really need is a blow through prept carb, there are a couple of good companies that build them, csu is the best that i know of. you also need a blow off valve . the most benificial reason for a blow through is you cant run a intercooler with a draw through becouse the whole system is full of fuel so if you have a backfire through the intake the whole thing goes boom!! also the throttle responce with a blow through is supposedly better. thanks for the possitive responces and sorry for all the miss spellings, its really late for me and i have drank way too much.
