  1. Anyone know of anything else? Should i pick apart the factory harness and go at it with a multi meter?
  2. I am going to check over the wiring tomorrow, take all the loom and tape off and trace down every wire going to the ecu. If by green relay you mean EFI relay, it's good. The ecu has power, the injectors have power. Everything has power. The cas is in the distributor, and it is good because if it wasn't good i wouldn't be getting a spark signal from the computer, in which case i am. Thank you both for the help so far. If you can think of anything else please post it. Everytime you post something i havn't thought about checking (injector ticking) it helps a lot. Kris~
  3. I am getting no ticks for sure. And i found out my friend's 280 has a bad injector ^.- Anyway. Nothing out of the injectors, but i'm getting spark, but my ecu works in my friends car. Anything come to mind?
  4. I can't hear anything at all. The injector plug is showing nothing on a my little needle meter. And the digital is too slow of course to pick it up. Anything else you can think of that would keep it from not firing the injectors? The injectors DO have 12v on them as well.
  5. The compression is good. And how do you hear the injector ticking over the motor. I didn't hear anything out of any of them but motor.
  6. I have recently finished the swap of an l28et into my 260. With the ecu wired in and everything hooked up it still will not start. The timing is correct, it is getting spark through the msd, but it still is not starting. Everyone that has looked at the car is completely baffled. You can smell gas, but it seems that the injectors arn't getting a signal on an analog (needle) meter. It took my ecu and put it in a friends running 82 turbo and it started right up. So.. it's not the ecu. Any help plz
  7. From the Electrical System inspection EFI circute diagram shows a little different from the haynes manuel diagrams that are also in that same pdf. I went to pin 18 ( - ign coil) and checked for any voltage and there was absolutely no change in anything when the key was on or starting. I've used the same diagram for 12v constant, efi relay, and start. For some reason still not getting any signal out for the coil. Edit: Can i get a signal for the MSD w/o the "Power Transistor" that is used with a standard coil setup?
  8. I also could use any more wiring on the 82 ecu. I do not think i have the power wires correct.
  9. It is an 82. So the ECU send the tach signal not the distributor? Possible reason i am not getting any fire DAMN IT! should have stayed 240 motor with the webbers... not.
  10. I'm in the process of trouble shooting my 280zxt swap. I am starting to confuse my self and was hopeing someone could help out a little. Does the factory ecu need a tach signal in order to run the injectors or does it use the crank angle sensor? I am using an msd that i had on my old motor in which the distributor as a 240, single points. Do i hook the white wire from the msd to the same spot on the 280 distributor, male connector on the side, given that it doesn't have points? This is what is happening and why i am asking these silly questions. I took a spark plug out and noticed it wasn't even damp from turning it over for a few min straight trying different things. Also notice it was not getting spark to the plug when i turned the motor over. The msd has a good direct ground and has power both on the main 12v and the ign wire. Kris~
  11. Most likely marren fuel rail and 52lb injectors, if that helps.
  12. Alright, i am doing a f54 block setup w/ an E88 head. I'm not looking to run insane amount of boost. I already have an msd 6al, don't know if i should use it or should just use the ms&s system. Why i am posting. I'm not sure on the injectors yet, i can't find a fuel rail. Probably going to go with something close to 440 or 550cc. Looks for a decent street car. Just bought a stage 2 cam from motor sport, i can't remember the specs off hand. Also i have heard rumors about having to use a speed density sensor rather than than the stock MAF. Where does this sensor hook into? Any advice would be great, i'm trying to get my project done and running. Kris~
  13. I am looking at the different kits. My question, is the v3.0 better than the v2.2? And also megasquirt I or Megasquirt II ecu? Just looking for an explanation of their versions and what not. Thanks Kris~
  14. I'm about to send my whole bottom end to get ballanced. I was just wondering if anyone knew where to get a euro damper from. I've been looking and either they can't be ordered anymore, or they just don't have them. Where did you get yours?

  16. Well, i am planning on running the e-88 head which does not have the chts on it, am i going to have to get an ohms reading and try and by pass it or has anyone had it fixed to their older n/a head?
  17. Alright, so some of these sensors on the 280zx EFI harness are confusing, do i need them, or what do they do? Cylinder head temp sensor - is it needed? EFI relay - what exactly does it do?? Thermal transmitter - Sounds like a detonation switch for a bomb. Air regulator sensor - Have not found this Pump control modulator - which pump is this for? Old Smog pump, or fuel pump? Should i just not worry about it? I am trying to get the EFI harness together and get everything that is needed to put it in my 74 260.
  18. I just had my block checked out and it got the okay from the machine shop. Now i am looking for pistons, would anyone know a good place to start looking? It's the f54 block, and i was planning on using the stock crank unless someone has a LD28 crank they would like to get rid of?? Anyway, i'm trying to find some 20 or 40 over forged pistons. I am also trying to get the compression a little higher, i am already planning on using an n/a head (E88) to get it slightly higher. I was also wondering if i use the 240 rods out of my old motor, would that make the valve clearance a problem? Any advice on getting higher compression would be beautiful. So far i'm looking for... Forged 20 or 40 over pistons LD28 diesel crank *edit* Am looking for any recomendation of manufacturers i should be looking for, or who i could get the pistons from. ??
  19. Hey, i was just wondering what size gauges were in the dash. All my gauges are fried and i would like to replace them in the stock positions. It looks like 2 7/8" or 3". Was wondering exactly what they were.
  20. Hey guys. Getting tired of the old L motor. Was wondering if there was any stregthening i needed to do to the uni-body or any prep worked i really needed to do. I think i can get ahold of an LS1 w/ 6speed. Any input would be great. Not sure where to start. Kris~

  22. I have an '82 280zxt doner car. I was wondering if it would be possible to just swap over the ignition system, computer and intake over onto my 240 block? The 240 block is running webbers and is already cammed. It also has forged pistons and rods. I've been told with the turbo setup on that motor will make way more hp that the webbers could dream of. I'm just worried about the motor grenading in the car. I do have the block, but the car sat for 11 years and i'm not sure about all of that. I am going to rebuild it right and eventually put that block in the car. I was just wanting to hear some opinions about the 240 motor being boosted
  23. I had that problem when replacing a head gasket. I did the same thing, i had to take the cover off and the crank pully. I didn't damage mine at all using a puller. I realized the tentioner was out and just twisted my leg opened my mouth, crossed my fingers and prayed it would stay.
  24. Hi, I am taking off the tripple webber set up i have and putting on the 280zx turbo intake system. I have connections as far as new injectors and a custom fuel rail, but i don't know where to get my turbo rebuilt at. The impeller on the intake side has taken a beating and needs to be replaced along with the bearings and such. I was also wondering if i should go ahead and just replace the Intake side with something bigger, maybe from a t4? Need help, thanks Kris~
