Black78280z Posted May 30, 2011 Share Posted May 30, 2011 Hey guys I have 1978 280z 2+2 with a 280zx turbo motor and a non turbo tranny. Motor is a stroker 3.1, noticed tranny starting to make lil noises. I'm wondering either to rebuild the tranny or upgrade to the T5 turbo transmission. Any other options? Running about 300hp. Would the T5 fit perfect or do i need to do mods, I know im gonna have to customize the driveshaft if i go that route for the 2+2, anything else i should know. Any input would be great thanks. Black78280z Posted June 4, 2011 Author Share Posted June 4, 2011 Or should i stick to my non turbo tranny and just rebuild it, since it most likely to be lighter than the t5. is there big advanatage of having a t5? and is there a rebuild kit for my non turbo tranny to rebuild it better than stock.
