viet_83
Hello, I am planning to swap the alternator to ZX alternator in my '75 280z by following this instruction: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/alternatorswap/index.html When I look at the number of wires, there should be 6 wires. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/wiringdiagrams/75_280z_wiring.pdf However, there are only 5 wires on my '75 and the missing wire is the Green/red (GR) wire ( I ran through the search and the '75 only have 5 wires instead of 6). That missing wire that was supposed to be there is capped off by plastic plug. I believe in the later model, that GR wire became a solid L (blue) wire. The closest blue wire I can find is in the safety interlock. I'm not sure what to do at this point. This is what i can think of: Can I eliminate the safety interlock and wire that blue wire with the black/wire wire of the voltage regulator together? viet_83
http://www.datsunstore.com/product_info.php/pName/105amp-high-output-alternator/cName/engine-z-electrical-tune-up I think I will get this alternator since their instruction said to disconnect the external voltage regulator and tape off the ending.
