Guest Anonymous
Okay, so I got a late model 302 block. I can deal with the serpentine belts (or the conversion to v belts) but I found this 3/8"(?) hole. It goes to the oil pan, I think, on the drivers side below the last freeze plug. It's a smooth bore hole so how do I plug it? JB weld? A small freeze plug? If any one has info on this please let me know. What is it for? Can I just weld the sucker shut! heh. jimzdat
Jon, sounds like it may be a hole for a dipstick tube--Ford had a habit of putting the tube in different places for different cars--the last time I came across one of those situations, the engine (actually the timing cover) came with a tapered plug that you could just drive into the hole and forget about--might want to check with your local machine shop and see if they have one available Jim
Guest Anonymous
Thanks for the reply Jim. The hole didn't go anywhere so I was just gonna plug it somehow. Jon
