Another consideration is that the 427 makes tons of torque. That would cause serious problems with twisting the Z until you would be driving on three wheels. This happened to a 1966 Falcon, when the 427 was installed without strengthening the chassis. As a rule, the 302 or 351 does not make as much torque as a 427. The AC Cobra's have a frame, which can handle the power of the 427. The 390/427/428 are great engines, and make great power, but do not seem compatable with the Z.
