ESP-OFF
Whatelse can I use other then the manual trans for my 2jz-gte swap. Figured I could use part of the driveshaft. Didn't know if I could use anything else since I have the whole car.

kaito
I wouldnt do a suspension swap from a mk3. One, the suspension was designed for a heavy car and two, the rear subframe is notorious for cracking especially the 87 model. (ask me how I know). I might however try and retrofit the differential and halfshafts and maybe brakes if I really felt like playing on the bridgeport. I had a new friend show me his homebrew q45 diff swap and im certain that for less than $200 bucks I can do the same thing. He had the q45 shafts shortened at moser for $150!!! and then just used some aluminum to make hub adapters with hand tools, notched the rear a-arm bar, and fabbed up a simple mount much like the R/T for the front of the diff and called it a day!!! Sorry for the rambling btw. Or you could 2jz the mk3!!
redleg
You can not use a factory r154 transmission to bolt up to your 2jz.. You need to obtain a 1jz bell housing and install that on the r154 trans. Then it will bolt up. Edited October 9, 2012 by redleg
