Guest Anonymous
So, I have a nice low mile l28 with an n4x head that I'm going to rip apart and put a turbo head on. What's the best FI intake manifold to use on the turbo head? Are p90/p90a heads stamped as such on the head, or do you have to remove the rocker arm cover to verify whether or not it has hydraulic lifters? Anyone got turbo cam reccomendations? Anyone resurfaced the rocker arms instead of replacing them? Anyone know of any good pages for porting and cleaning up a p90 head? And where do you plumb in the turbo oil supply? Is there a plugged fitting? Oil pressure sensor hole? What aboit oil pan? Drill a hole for a return tube, or get a turbo pan, or what? Is the turbo pan larger capacity by any chance? ------------------ Morgan http://z31.com/~morgan/s30 http://carfiche.com [This message has been edited by Morgan (edited November 20, 2000).]
Drax240z
Lets see. P90 head and P90a heads are stamped that way between #1 and #2 I am 99% sure. Cam: I'd recommend stock. Could always call a cam company and see what they recommend. Intake: use the turbo intakes as I believe they have larger diameter intake runners. Oil return line: get a turbo pan if you can for cheap. If not just cut a hole in the side of the NA pan and weld a piece of pipe onto it. I think the pans are all the same size, but check out simon degroots setup to see a good idea how to make it large. Arif
Sorry Drax beat me to it. This thread should be renamed a million questions P90 heads are labelled P90 between the front 2 spark plugs (nearest the radiator). N42 intakes don't have all the emissions etc. on it. However I was told that the turbo runners are a bit larger than the N42 although I haven't measured them. I have a turbo intake in the garage if you need measurements. As far as oil supply line...there is a oil line fitting on the F54 (turbo)block in front of the oil filter. The oil pressure sensor is also plumbed into that oil line fitting. I'm someone else will chime in on the rest of questions. [This message has been edited by Arif (edited November 20, 2000).]
Guest Anonymous
That's pretty neat. I just wish I could weld better than a 3 year old girl I think 4 wuarts is not quite enough oil for me.... ------------------ Morgan http://z31.com/~morgan/s30 http://carfiche.com

One thing to add to that - the oil must return to the pan ABOVE the oil level, so put your tube as high as possible on the pan. ------------------
