rb26dett is a skyline motor.every body wants one but they are rare and expensive.best way to install a l28et is with sds efi system.i have a 77 with a 81zxt engine .i hooked it all up with oem computor a wire harness but it was a b@#$%.car is certified in california-got caught at last registration for smog check.except for wiring every thing else bolts in .best trans is 82 or 83 na zx trans-best ratios with r200 3.9 rear.

Havok, Welcome.

The least expensive way (in the long run, it is debatable) is to adapt the factory wiring. The best way to do it is like Randy said, trash all the factory electricals and use a programmable system. I and many have had success with the SDS system.

The reason why I said the factory option being the least expensive is debatable is because many have had problems connecting the wiring and recalibrating the AFM. When you do get it running and have the urge for more HP (and you will), you are limited with what you can do. Bottom line is, if you are not fairly knowledgable with the OEm system and EFi in general, you end up $.05 & $.10 yourself to death, thinking you are saving money.

I am sure many here will offer help and you can start here: http://www.zdriver.com/members/scottiegnz/scotties240zt.htm

Havok,

The l28 is an relatively easy swap and with the SDS the job is even easier. My prior experience with engine swaps was nil. I did a lot of reading like everyone here is suggesting and decided what I wanted to have. Be realistic with yourself, some folks say they "only" want 230-250hp and use mostly stoock stuff, but the need for speed ultimately catches up with you. When I started my swap I knew I wanted 375-400 hp and run 11s in the 1/4 mile. Then I researched other cars that were either already there or on their way to that mark. Bottom line is if you want a really fast car build it that way from the start and you will save money in the long run.

Hey Bud. I'm doing the same conversion right now. Check out the link in my signature at the bottom, and read the turbo buildup artcile I posted. Its a decent start. There are also a dozen links at the end of it that will help you out.

Plan on lots of reading if you know nothing about turbos. (I was in the same boat about 8 months ago!!)
