franky240z
I can't find details on this.On sorting out my garage I noticed that the 3 heads i've got(going e31/e31/unknown) have some numbers on them, what are they for and what do they correspond to?Someone on here must know? EuroDat
The numbers on the end are most probably casting numbers used for batch registration and tracability. The head type number is on the side Between first and second sparkplugs. Here is a link that explains the major differences between the heads. http://datsunzgarage.com/heads/ Chas
franky240z
Hi Cheers for the info, I know about the head type etc, just the random numbers on the back of the head had my head scratching. Your guess of casting numbers etc seems to make sense.
EuroDat
I know the campany (Brabant alucast) next to where I work do that with the oilpans, crankcases, turbo's etc. http://www.brabantalucast.com/plants/the-netherlands-site-oss.html They use the numbers for QC to trace batches for recall etc. The numbers on the back of the L28 heads would be for a similar purpose.
