J-hop
Hi everyone. So I have a predicament as usual with my Z rebuild. To give a brief back story I bought a car which previously had a V8 swap in it. Obviously the transmission mount "ears" have been hacked off to fit the V8's transmission in the tunnel. I want to install (for the time being) an L24 with a 280zx 5 speed mated to it. However I do not have ANY welding skills or access to a welder at the moment. I could have the car towed to a shop and something welded up for me but that is quite a hassle and I was hoping for a "bolt on" option. Does anyone have any ideas? I've checked out the technoversions V8 transmission crossmember that bolts to the floorpan but it appears to bolt farther back than the stock transmission mount and I don't know if it would span the gap at the stock location? I've thought about looking at an RB Mckinney mount, but I am unsure of the mount location relative to the stock mount? Any help would be much appreciated edit: it looks like coltgt463 was able to move his crossmember up to what looks to be almost in line with the stock mount location. It looks similar to the technoversions (I think it may be a JCI?), I will try contacting him and report back http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/92374-sbc-to-ls1-conversion-what-parts-can-be-re-used/ Edited January 25, 2013 by J-hop
