Guest Anonymous
I'm considering the possibilities of swapping in a Toyota 2JZ-GTE from a MKIV supra TT into my 240Z, but have some questions in mind. I notice that the oil pan is lower in front portion of the engine. I could make a pan for it, but I don't know if the pickup will be easy to move. Has anyone tried this swap, if so are there any pics/info on it some where? For those of you are considering or have done a 7m-gte swap why would you pick it over the 2jz? I know price is a large factor, but if there was no price to consider would you still stick with the 7m? I personally own a Supra MKIII Turbo with the 7m-gte and it's a great engine, but the 2jz is a more modern design and I would think it has its advantages. It's neat to pick up a Turbo mag and see that people are pushing stock internals well above 700rwh! The 7m's weakest stock point is the head gasket, but still with a metal head gasket on them I don't see as many of them with stock internals pushing over 700rwh. Let me know what you guys think. I'm ready to sell of my Stroked turbo L28ET parts to invest in a Toyota engine, but want to be sure I could make things fit first.
Guest Anonymous
Sorry, I see that there was already a thread about this. I would still love to see some pictures. I think I will go ahead with the 2JZ-GTE swap if I can find an engine/tranny at a good deal. I guess under $3k is a good deal. Thanks for great info in the other thread.
