rzamvilla
RB Guys, I am in the market to buy a top mount manifold and a external wastegate to suit my desired set up. Now, would a 44-45mm wastegate suffice the exhaust flow for a GT3076? I will be looking to run anywhere from 14psi to be on the safe side before I build the engine, and from there go to 20+. I was told to get a 50mm wastegate and no less, but given the fact that wastegates are fairly pricey, I would like to know if the 44-45mm will do the job. djz
Probably what matters more is how good your manifold is for wastegate flow.
pat1
A good quality 38mm will do. I have a tial waste gate on my 1JZ with a pt-61 turbo boosting 20lbs with no problems. I have no boost spikes. I had two turbonetics 38mm that would over boost and boost spike all the time. I swapped it out for a tial and never had a problem. rzamvilla
Right on. So manifold rate of air flow is a factor to be considered too. Well I guess that was more of my concern if I would have boost creeps. With that said, are you running a 14 pound spring and what 38mm wastegate are you running? @pat1
pat1
I'm running a 1bar spring and a tial 38mm waste gate.
