Guest Anonymous
When i took my 240 out on the road it had no power at all, it struggled to get to 50mph. I took it back to my house and was checking it over to find what could be the problem. I took the ignition wire coming from the coil to the distributor cap off and held it a little bit above ground and then cranked the engine over. I noticed the spark was red. Thinking that it would've been the coil I went and bought a MSD blaster coil, installed it and still the red spark. If someone could tell me what else might cause this problem I would really appreciate it. It has a 81 maxima distributor in it. Guest Anonymous
When was the last time the car was tuned up. From what little info you have given I would look at the fuel filter. May be clogged. Start there. Let us know a little more after that. John
Graeme
Check your plugs and the resistance on your leads, dose it run smoothly at idle?
Evan Purple240zt
Red spark is not good, should be blue or white. I would start troubleshooting the electrical, or buy an MSD6al, or the crane hi-6 to bypass the factory fun n games. Evan
