Guest Anonymous
Hey everyone I recentlly bought a 280z with an injected motor. It's not currentally running and needs a new gas tank. At the time it was parked, it was running. But due to a theft inside the engine compartment, it hasnt been turned over in at least 3 years. My question is what is the best way to clean the old dried oil and relub without breaking it down? I know I should, but if I do that, I might as well go ahead and do the V8 swap. Guest Anonymous
Pull out the spark plugs and spray in WD 40 and a light penetrating oil.Disable or disconnect the gas line. Put a socket on the damper and turn the engine by hand. If not wait a day and try again. When the engine turns by hand give yourself and it a work out. Drain out the old gas and figure out a way to get fuel to the engine if the gas tanks is shot. Turn the engine with the starter but with the coil wire disconnected. Listen, Listen to everything even when turning by hand. If everything sounds right try to fire the engine up. I worked on a froze motor for a month little by little (choot-choot) and finally got it going but never forced it and do not push the process. The clutch also could be froze to the flywheel too.
