Guest Z/liver
I read a post about a week ago that you responded to, about pistons. I am having a difficult time locating pistons for a 76' block. Because of the amount of rust on cylinder walls, I need to find pistons, oversize of .75mm at a resonable price, live in No. Ca. can you help? Thanks, Z/liver
Guest Anonymous
Yes I can help you. I live in Oceanside, CA 37 miles north of San Diego. Why not go 0.40" ~ 1mm over? They are much easier to get. They should be about 25.00 each with rings + tax and shipping.
Guest Z/liver
1fixer1 Thanks for your response! So far the best price I have been able to find is appx. $40.a piston(set). The Z block that I am rebuilding was given to me. Unforgenately, it had been sitting for some time and had rust. I cleaned it as best I could, including honing the cylinder walls. Although the cylinders cleaned up well, they where less than perfect, so I took the block to a machinest who said he would bore the cylinders to elimanate any rust. He said he bored over 060 which I think translates to .75mm, anyway If you are willing to help me save money, needless to say I am most thankful, and would be willing to give you a "kickback" (e.g.) a modest amount of money, or any Z part I can provide you with. Thanks I would like to talk with you personally... so can you provide me with your telephone no. I can be reached at (925) 443-3119 Ken Anderson, Z/liver
