Guest Anonymous
Is a 1000lb stand enough?
z-ya
I'm using this 750lb one to rebuild and L28 now: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=32915 It's plenty strong enough to hold a complete engine with manifolds. Sumo
1000lb is more than enough, although the legs on the 2000lb model are safer.
Guest Anonymous
Ah thanks for the quick replys. Just got my '72 240 towed and moved into my garage yesterday, pulled the hood, WD40'ed a bunch of stuff and wanna pull the old engine and get a stand for the new L24 and start building it up. Now whats the website and name of that canadian Z parts place that sends out quartly catalogs, I lost mine and need to get sent another. Missing a few things that I need on the new engine, like rods and pistons and rockerarms, and bolts, and... well little things that I don't think I could salvage from the old engine. Guest Z-rific
Are you looking to keep the engine stock? You are probbly looking for Victoria British and/or Motorsport Auto.
Guest Anonymous
I do not think there is much strength difference between the 750 and 1000 pound models due to the same materials used but the 4 wheeled one (1000 #) is a lot safer and not likely to tip when using brute force when moving "thangs" (considering that I once flipped a cherry picker on it's side and the SBC 350 was airborne for 6 feet). Guest Anonymous
Victoria British, thats it! Ah yes, stock for now, but I think a 1jz will be a good swap, being a toyota fan myself.
