Guest gprix1
Before I decided on V8 Z car I was seriously considering a Cobra kit. Not because I paticularly like the Cobra, just that it was a relatively simple, light-weight, V8 powered sports car. I soon found out that building one that just goes fast in a straight line is not too hard but making one that handled good was very expensive. Also, I really didn't care to use Ford components (sorry Ford fans). So, I decided on the V8 Z with a Corvette IRS, 383 SBC, T56, roll cage, and upgraded front suspension; wouldn't it figure that a car I probably would have built, the Dragon, comes out right as I'm seriously into my V8 Z project sigh.. Check this thing out, it uses Corvette Front and Rear suspension with the big 13" fronts and 12" rear brakes (you can get these complete for dirt cheap). But unlike a Corvette that weighs 3,200 the car they put a Big Block in weighs only 1,900 and at the Run and Gun where the car was unveiled, it won the autocross event outright. Not a whole lot of info' on their site yet but the latest issue of Kit Car (July) has an article on it. http://www.dragonmotorcars.com/order_form.html
Guest Anonymous
It is a copy of the old Lister body style. Chuck Beck of Beck Developement does a similar kit called appropriately the "Lister" which is incrcredibly fast. Chuck Beck has been in the kit car industry for years with a good reputation and pioneered the Beck 550 Porsche Spyder
Guest Anonymous
Hmmm, it mentions putting in a 427 motown SBC screamer.... I could live with it I suppose... Guest gprix1
Yes, that is the first thing they talked about in the Kit Car article. John Chesnut raced a Lister in 2000 and decided to create something a bit differant. The Dragon is what they came up with and it looks to me like it is an improvement over the original Listers both in looks and in handling.
