'73 I just acquired has odd manners shifting into reverse. Will not slide over directly, but need to have significant pressure on the lever and it s-l-o-w-l-y eases over to the right and drops in. beermanpete Posted January 6, 2016 Share Posted January 6, 2016 The detent might be gummed up from lack of use. Changing the trans oil and taking the car on long trip might help.
