Guest Anonymous
Hey all, I've been looking around for a few ideas as far as a cheaper stand-alone programmable EFI system than SDS, haltech and such. I want something that uses a similar setup as the SDS EM-3 6F which uses a hall sensor and magnets on the crank pulley for timing. I'm very interested in megasquirt( http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html ), but it doesn't seem to offer ignition control, as SDS, but only fuel control. Anyone know of an affordable setup that could be used with the megasquirt setup to give full control of both fuel and ignition. I'm looking for something like a DIS system or something similar to that. Also, if something like that is easily manufactured out of generic GM or whatever parts, it would kick ass. BLKMGK
Price range? FAST makes a nice system - used to be sold under the Felpro name. The DFI GENVIII is nice but pricey. The new AEM is looking good but hasn't been released as a race system yet only PnP. Cost on th eAEM is about $1200 for the PnP and more for a race system w/harness. SDS might be cheapest overall and has certainly been proven.
