Guest Anonymous
I inherited a 280Z a few years ago and poking around with it now. It is a 75 280Z with a newer motor. I gather from the book (Chiltons) that the motor is a 79-83. I have no spark and someone before me was working on it and had cut all the wires at the resistor/coil and attempted to rewire. - There is 2-BLK w/BLK wires. A BLK b/BLK and a BLUE at the resistor/coil and a Green, Red, and BRN to the distributor. I don't know where any of these connect to. The book is very vague. Please help I have spent countless hours trying to figure this out.
Guest Anonymous
Are you sure you have an IC electronic ignition unit? I tried for about an hour to find out why I didn't have a spark. and Found that someone took my ignition unit. (little black box attached to the distributor) If this is the case then look at the HEI ignition module thingie for about $30 as teh OEM ones run at about $140 here is the site incase you need it (and for anyone else who needs it) http://dimequarterly.tierranet.com/articles/tech_hei.html
