Jared,

I gave you some URLs for the Buick forums so check the classifieds EVERYDAY!!! If one shows up it will not be there long.

Another way to find one is to search newspaper classifieds or rags like Auto-trader for a running 86-87 Turbo Regal that has a bad body. It is the same drivetrain as a GN and I have seen them go for as low as $3000. get one, keep the drivetrain and salvage things of value like the Powermaster, rear-end, etc to recoup some of the extra cost.

One thing I will tell you is if you are serious about finding one, do not limit your search to your neighbor, town or even state.

Judging from Scottie's link the weights are probably within 200lbs of each other. I don't know how much fabbing it took to get a GN drivetrainin the RX7 but I'd certainly research that pretty good before doing it. Older RX7s darn near fall out of trees as people don't understand taking care of the rotory it seems so picking one up shouldn't be too bad. Finding a rear with a decent ratio might be tough though - 4:10 ouch! Scottie's having a tough time with a 3.?? in his and wants a 3.3:1 - how do the tire heights compare on the RX vs the 240?

Scottie - you tried a taller tire yet? smile.gif

The owner of that car is a friend and will be happy to give any information on the swap and how the car performs.

Drop him a line: gnx7@hotmail.com

The absolute forst time I ran my car it had a 3.90 and 245/50-15 tires. I left the shifter in 4th and it shifted into 4 right at the 1/8-mile! I now have 3.54 with 275/50-15 and still have to shift into 4th, so imagine what that RX-7 is going through with 4.10s.

Still running the 26" BFGs and they are as bald as Michael Jordan's head but still hooking. I would love to buy those 3.15s that someone had for sale on the forum but just cannot do it now as I am in the process of spending money on a air-water I/C.
