Scottie-GNZ
Do not know if there is still interest, but here is some more info to chew on: http://www.turbobuick.com/bb/Forum20/HTML/000643.html
jeromio
The executive summary: the guy who did it and has the most info regrets his choice of a manual trans over the auto. Not good to hear....
Guest Anonymous
Could be the turbo's powerband is more suited to a constant power delivery in an automatic, instead of one with the throttle, off, shift, on the throttle again. Not real suprising I don't think considering Buick designed it for an automatic behind it. Or to coin they're advertising phrase "Wouldn't you really rather have a " automatic? , Lone [ May 08, 2001: Message edited by: lonehdrider ]
Guest MegaShaft_2000
It takes a moment for the boost to build up. On an Auto, you can powerbrake it to build up the boost, and never let off the throttle. This keeps the boost level built up througout your run. On a stick, you are constantly letting off the throttle to shift, and the boost needs to build back up each time. On 300ZX's, I know the automatic versions are faster to 100mph, even though they only have 280hp compared to 300 for the 5 speed model.
