Guest Anonymous
What is wrong with running 14 pounds of boost through a Holley blow through carb on a L28T motor with intercooler? It would mean saveing atleast $2000 for SDS,inj. and high pressure fuel pump. Could it make 400 hp?
Drax240z
"what is wrong" Well... Tuning will be a major beaaach. Remember you want to maintain a good air/fuel ratio throughout your rpm range. Much much harder to do with a carb than with EFI. It should work, it should be possible. I would sooner run a blow through design using mikuni's or triple webers than with a holley, but the holley should be doable too. I'm not convinved that you would have enough control over your air/fuel ratio to safely hit 400hp on an L28 however. ------------------ Richard Lewis - 1972 240z, Powered by a Nissan 2.8L Turbo Inline 6. Guest Anonymous
Thanks for answering, it was just an idea. I heard you can only force 7lb. of boost through Webers.
TimZ
I used to run 12-14psi through triple Mikuni 44's. It can be done, but as Drax already pointed out, it's a real bitch to tune. Full and part throttle performance was okay, but transients were terrible. Everytime I would downshift and floor it, it would bog. Badly. With EFI, I have none of these problems.
