Guest Anonymous
I picked up a turbo from the local p'n'p for $60. Not to shabby I wanted to put the turbo using the manifold and downpipe I also got from p'n'p on my N/A 280Z L6. For now I only wanted to run 4-6 lbs. of boost (simply because the motor is a N/A motor). do you think I can do this with little work? I have no parts to start with (BOV, Boost gauge, I/C, Adjustable fuel pres. reg.). Should I wait to throw this stuff on until I have all these?? Or can I get by with out them if I limit my boost? The waste gate is internal, what year would that be from on the L6T motors? I guess I wanted to slap this puppy on because I like the sound of a spooling turbo. Do you think this "bolt-on" is worth the energy? What other small mods would I need to do? I was going to run 3" pipe now because I was planning to build a 350+hp turbo motor and drop that in later. I just wanted something fun for the time being while my funding builds. Any suggestions would be great. I can pick up a photo and e-mail to you if you are questioning the turbo type. One other thing, the turbo spins smooth with no play, but the fins have been damaged. What is the best turbo rebuild kit to use? I know a guy who rebuilds GN and he is going to look into rebuilding mine. Again, any suggestions would be great.
