scottyMIz
well i've been posting the results of my engine i took it out over the weekend and got it taken apart yesterday and found it to be in great shape for over 140k miles on it.But i ran into a snag i found my compression problem and fuel into the oil problem. The top ring groove has worn alot the ring moves up and down in the piston alot.I took it to the machine shop to see if they can put in some kind of spacer that they use to use a long time ago.Should i just go for new pistons or try to fix the old ones? They are in good shape besides the top ring groove. Also can i just get the pistons from my g-friend's dad's store or should i use nissan pistons? Is one stronger than the other? The machine shop guy his name is larry he doesn't believe i'll get 400 hp out of a six cylinder but i'll proove him wrong. The arank looks new even though it's been in the engine for 21 years and it has p-30 on it does that mean anything? The pistons have p-90 on them just like the head does that mean anything either?I could really use your help thanks
Guest kc6wfs
Myself, I would replace them. I would not want to wonder if it would break. Plus as you say there is 100K+ miles on the pistons. Dave
