Guest Anonymous
Well, I spent 12 hours going nuts getting the info. I had a 87 turbo coupe in my shop the other day. I set the turbo on the floor, I look over and see the turbo Z motor I'm working on, and with the gasket in hand, I walk over to the motor, and it fits the exhaust manifold. I pick up the ford turbo, set it next to the Z turbo. Wow, not much difference, waste gate upside down. I was thinking this might work on a Z--wrong, its like %2 or close to that smaller, but on a 4cyl ford bet it would kick butt! The wast gate diaphram on the Z works at 7 psi, and the ford works at 10 psi. Rods are same length cut and weld or just turn the knob. The Z i was working on, is a L6. I hear the Z31 AS of 85 is the same size and water cooled like the ford and fits on the L6. If i cant use the info hope someone can.
