well, my faith in ma mopar has yet again been renewed. i was helping a friend work on a car he had bought for his GF, it was a late 84 diplomat with a 318. he poured some atf in the oil, carb, etc. and we did the plugs, cap and air filter. we start it up and it ran very smoothly but smoked a decent amount. we chalked it up to the ATF cleaning out the carb and whatnot. other than that it ran good but felt weak.

well today i go back up to his house and notice that the car's front end is much higher off the ground than normal and of course it was missing the motor. so i asked him what was up. he then told me that they had later found out that it had been running on only 4 cylinders! the other 4 ring's were shot. and on top of that we had accidentally screwed the timing order totally up. and that sucker still ran. pretty friggin amazing in my book

I was reading a story about one guy who got a '68 Charger with a 440 for $30 that he drove home thinking it was pretty fast for an old junker that was sitting for about 20 years untouched. Then he found out he drove it all the way home, 200 some miles, on 3 cylinders :eek::eek:

All hail Mopar!!! hail.gif
