Guest Anonymous
Hello, my name is Chris, I have a 71 and have the chance to buy my friends 2001 5.9 RT truck that he modified on a concrete center diveder. Before he wadded it he instaled shorty headers, chip, and a suppercharger, plus more. I am more familure with chevy but this sure seems like a potential swap doner. I have the JTR books and I love to work on cars. Have any of you done or know of anyone who has done one, if so.- 1)mounts? 2)T56 adaptation? and 3)What do you think of this swap, all thoughts welcome. Guest Anonymous
We have a member who put in a SBM (small block mopar) in a Z with a 4sp overdrive. I havn't heard in a while how he likes it, but I remember his saying it fit pretty much like the chevy just with different mounts. Do a search in the mopar sig, he'll be in there. I believe its Landis Tillman (forgive if I mispelled that Landis). T56 to magnum huh? Not sure I know anyone doing that off hand, but its a big world and I KNOW that somewhere someone is either doing it, planning it or has done it. I think it'd make a great swap personally. The weight is good, a bit less than the chevy and modern with fuel injection, I say hell yeah! Regards, Lone
Guest Anonymous
Thankyou for the info and your web site. Our cars have some things in common. Original color, gauges, and the seat choice. I will check out the Mopar info next and look into trans. options. If it looks good I will p/u the wreck. Go easy, Chris
Guest Anonymous
Good to hear of someone else, contemplating the mopar V8 conversion. I just purchased a 77 280z and am attempting to put a 91’ 360 with automatic in it. Keep us posted if you decide to take on the challenge. It sure sounds like a great engine to start with. Good luck.
