Guest Anonymous
My SDS equipped Ford 250 occassionally would have this annoying intermittent miss at 2200-2500. Usually just an occasional sput-sput while cruising, but sometimes a big SPUT and an error message on the screen. Tried adjusting the Hall sensor, rotor phasing, shielding the Hall sensor wires, timing, mixture....nothing seemed to work. Then yesterday evening I was doing some work under the hood in semi-darkness when I noticed sparks at the throttle cable!?! I had forgotten to put the friggen ground strap back on between the engine and the body and the thing was being grouded intermittently thru the throttle cable! No wonder the Hall sensor was having trouble providing a clean signal! Ground strap on, miss gone! I am such a doofus sometimes!
randy 77zt
nice advice-you can never ground something in a vehicle too good.a few extra ground straps dont hurt anything.
