Guest Anonymous
The 1984-86 Camaros apparently had 3 radiators for the 4 cylinder, V6 and V8 engines respectively.Modine Radiator carried 3 replacement radiators:#952,#919,#951.. The 919 (V-6) was discontinued. The #951 radiator is a 26" wide core V8 radiator and too large for a Datsun V8 conversion. Modine now lists the #952 as a replacement for both 4 cylinder and V8 applications. #952: 18 3/4 inch overall height and 25 1/8 width with a 1 3/8 inch core. There is also an out of stock #950 with a 1 1/8 inch thick core which may not be adequete for a V8. The frame rails in the radiator area of a Datun Z is around 25 3/8 inch.I am passing along this information since there seems to be a little confusion on the Camaro radiator when ordering a conversion radiator. We know what we want but the vendors seem to get confused on the swap since there is a possibility that the original GM radiators were either too big or not adequete to cool properly until Modine combined the different sizes into a 1 3/8 inch thick core X 25 1/8 overall width and a 18 3/4 overall height.(#952 has a 20 plus inch wide core excluding the tanks)Please correct and comment on this post. We need correct information. The toll free tech line phone # for Modine is: 1-888-MODINE
Mike kZ
You found the right one, it's the one with the 20+ inch core. #
