Guest kcambron
I bought a 73 240 and I am getting ready to put a L28 and five speed.I would like to run the injection but I am uncertain about electrical and fuel requirements, I have the entire car with the L28 in it so I should have most of the parts. Can anyone give me a brief rundown on what I am getting into? Thanks,Kevin
Guest kcambron
Thanks Pete, this gives me somewhere to start! Would it be easier to just put the 280 fuel tank in the 240, I think the 280 has the fuel pump in the tank.Does the 280 have a return line that I can use? Thanks again, Kevin
Guest Anonymous
aaib. If you want to see what a FI tank looks like in a 240 go to Eric Nyerlins zparts.com site web page and for some real z parts interchange web page and this web page
z-ya
Since you have the donar car, this kind of swap isn't all that bad if you can read a schematic, and have good wiring skills. Youl will need to run a new fuel return line to the tank (5/16" or greater). You willalso need to mount the fuel pump from the 280 back near the tank. The rest of the installation is wiring related. When pulling the engine fromt he 280Z, keep as much of the harness intact as you can. Then it's really a matter of wiring power to the FI system. You will need a relays for the computer and the fuel pump. You should be able to use all of that from the 280Z. Get yourself a factory 280Z manual, and a book on Bosch L-Injection. Good luck!
