Guest fly yellow
my dad and one of his friends that was a motorcycle mechanic and has a whole bunch of 38mm mikuni side drafts and he (has a full machine shop in his garage)wants to help me build a manifold and put six of them on my z should i do this or pursue an rb25det swap i just think that it would be very cool and he will help me build the motor to where it could use all that air (high compression full port and polish balance and blueprint and bigger valves) it would certainly be unique but a real pain to tune
Guest Anonymous
I'd do it just to see if it worked, should be fine though, the later Japanese carbs are CV sorta like a SU only they jet differently so it should work fine. If nothing else, once they're on there you could always put injector bungs on the manifold, fuel injected it and use the throttlebodies that are on it already, be a cool setup. Theres always time later for that other swap if you don't like this one right? Regards, Lone

Guest Perry
when you eventually get it tuned right that should be an excellent setup, read David Vizard's book on carbs and intakes. He claims almost equal results of individual runner carbs to well built Fuel injection systems in respect to power, fuel efficiency, and emmissions. you basically do away with a lot of the compromise of a carb setup by having one per cylinder.
