I was wondering if anyone out there has used JTR's TPI/TBI conversion manual? Any injection conversion success stories would give me hope. Thx, Jeff

Go aftermarket! I have a Pro-Flo Edelbrock with sequential, multipoint fuel injection. It comes with everything you need. I dynoed my 327 with this EFI and Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, and it made 435hp, 493 ft lbs tq!!

I,ve got a Chevy 383 in my 76Z with Accel's DFI sys. I use an LT-1 type fuel injection mini-ram type manifold with twin 58mm TB's. Fuel is pumped by a 300 lb/hr Bosch FP thru 30 lb injectors. I produce almost 475HP @ sea level and about 425HP here in Grand Junction, Colo, which is 4700+ ft elev. This setup was rather pricey ($5000+/-)!! I'm planning to do a "standard" Chevy 350 and use Accel's 4 barrel TBI sys which uses a standard 4 barrel carb intake manifold and save about $3500.

JEGS catalog has a variety of TPI/TBI setups which include Accel, Edelbrock, Holley, etc. I know Accel the best because I've got one and it works great.

I did have JTR's TBI/TPI manual, but gave it away. It dealt primarily with the pulling and installing a complete TPI setup engine into a Z. I just wanted to start from scratch with out all the "tuned in" smog junk that usually accompanys the late model (85 and up)engines.

Good luck!! smile.gif

Thanks for the info guys. I have access to a '91 Camaro w/ TBI really cheap so the JTR manual just might be the ticket for me Frog.

Thanks again, Jeff
