Kinked_Chrome
I bought an LT1 and 4l60e off ebay for $1350, complete with everything, including ECM, wiring harness and even a radiator . It's out of an Impala SS with 62K miles. I was going to do the 5.0 conversion, but a buddy of mine bought an LT1 for his jeep and inspired me. Now it's time to find a T56 and get rid of that 4l60e, anyone interested in buying one? My swap should be finished by June 1st. My suspension needs to be but back together and the rust is going to get fixed The only question i have is with the harmonic balancer, the smallest listed in jeg's is 7 1/2", JTR says i need 7 1/4". Should i keep searching, just build the mounts to clear the stock balancer (not sure what size), or can i mount it so far back to not worry about it. Thanks

Guest Anonymous
I am interested in that transmission if I can adapt it to a carburator equipped 350 SBC. The last deal I had was on a 2004R that UPS dropped from a fork lift. QUESTION CAN I ADAPPT THE NEWER ELECTRONIC OVERDRIVE TO A CARBURATOR WITHOUT A COMPUTER??????????? E-mail on your asking price ljohnson@uswestmail.net
Modern Motorsports Ltd
Running a 4L60E without it's usual Lt1 etc is VERY pricey IMO. Over a grand US as I recall in adaptor parts alone from TCI. Their computer, electronic signal interpreter and a 3rd piece I don't recall. For the TCI bits alone you can have a fine 700R4 built. I may have posted PN's/prices in an older post here. Congrats on the Lt1 'Kinked chrome', it's a sweet motor as is and easily hopped up cheaply for extra hp if desired. Your best 4l60E resale might be to a 4th gen fbody owner. One locally just chewed up his oe trans and initiated a 'power' rebuild. good luck
