SpeedRacer
Saw this in the latest Autoweek and thought some of you guys in California might be interested: Clearing the air A new California law allows owners of previously registered kit cars and replica cars to qualify for a “specially constructed†designation that exempts cars 30 years and older—and kits cars that represent cars 30 years and older—from emission testing. The program is limited to 500 specially constructed vehicles per year. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=index&content_code=07606322

SpeedRacer
I haven't seen the law but the statement "and kits cars that represent cars 30 years and older" is what got me. The way I read it is that you put a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO kit on a 1978 Datsun 280 it would be exempt.
