Guest Anonymous
Hi everybody, I have been anticipating getting the stock 6 outa my 240 for months I finally got the chance. Its not pretty the frame rails are failing to pieces, I have also found several spots that might cause trouble like the cowl and infront of the radiator mount. The whole process of removing the engine was a breeze. This was my first experience with pulling one. The hardest part was fighting the transmision mounts so i could get the old 4 speed out of the tunnel. Ok. What the heck do you guys do about the windshield cowl rusting? I have some por-15 but its gonna be near about impossible to get to it all. Also the frame rails have been reinforced with some stright iron welded to the bottom section then to a crossmember made for structural support which then seems to be welded to the frames under the floor pans. I have a couple of sites with the pics of the stuff i took today check them out and tell me what you guys think! My 240z--> body and interior stripped http://www.geocities.com/jebz240/Zcar.html engine bay, rust, cowl, http://www.geocities.com/jebz240/Zcar_rust.html *this has nothing to do with the above..* My 92 Z32 I destroyed http://www.geocities.com/jebz240/photopageceltic.html Any comments, suggestions, ideas,Words of wisdom will be accepted gladly Jebz240

Sumo
It's amazing you survived that crash with your Z32! It looks like you have a lot of rust removal ahead of you, so happy cutting.

Sumo
Plasma cutter would be the best, but only if you can afford it. Regular acetilin torch will do fine.
