Guest sb400z
Like I said, my new heads are on their way They are mildly ported and have 64cc chambers. Compression before was 8.25:1 (i think...). any ideas of what it will be now. I've seen sites that say on a 400, if you go down to a 64cc, compression goes up 1.25 to 1.75 points. I also have a holley 750 and dual plane weiand intake, with a crane 272h cam. Anybody want to throw out a guess on hp/torque. or if you have Desktop Dyno, can punch it in? Thanks, I'll let you all know what a difference it makes at the track.
Guest zfan
What size chambers did you run before that gave you a possible 8.25-1. If you had 70cc or 76cc chambers you could really bump up the compression and if it is not enough then just run a thinner head gasket I would not go any higher than 10.5 to 1, If in California I would keep it at or below 10 to 1. That 91 super sucks!! I fear the day Texas does the same. Can you say Sunoco 104 mix it like a Martini Mike
Guest sb400z
I'm pretty sure that they are 76cc. The motor came out of a 3/4 ton van in 76. I'll take a look at the casting numbers and cross-reference to find out for sure. All we have out here in phoenix is 91, so I don't want to go too high either. I just want high 11's on street tires. Is that too much to ask? Oh yea, I've gotta keep it cool too... 125 degrees outside isn't good with a 400 in traffic...
