Guest Mr. Big Business
Ok, I'm in the process of wiring up my '71 with an HEI and MSD 6AL, and I'm confused. On one page, the JTR manual talks about the green/white wire going to the fuel pump wiring, but on the wiring diagram, there's no mention of the green/white. So, what am I supposed to do with the green/white wire? Also, I assume that the black/white wire with the sleeve on it will go to the red (switched hot) wire of the MSD, right? Also, I didn't keep track of which wires were originally where, so now I have 3 identical black/white (w/o sleeve) wires. any method to figure out which of the 3 goes to the tach? thanks, Henry
Guest Mr. Big Business
Nevermind, I figured it out with the trusty dusty meter. It turns out that two of the black/white wires are switched hot wires, which is perfect for running to the MSD and fuel pump relay (and spliced over to the electric choke, too). The green/white wire is only on during cranking. (at least I hope so, I know it's not on when the ignition is on) In case anybody finds this post using the search feature, here's a really ugly wiring diagram.
