I want to put a set of weld draglites that measure 15X10 rear and 15X 7 or 8 in the front. Is this possible on the 280ZX? I don't know the maximum width that can be used.

Well they might fit. What you need to know is the offset of the wheels, and then you can do some measurements. Use the offset to figure out the backspacing. Then go and measure how much clearance you have between your hub and your struts. If its really close to the backspacing of the wheels, then they may not fit, as the tires will add even more to the backspacing. Anyhow get a yardstick and I suggest getting a tape measure in cm as it is easier to use metric. Ok hope that helps.

The backspacing combined with the width of the wheel is the real critical issue. Then tire selection is also important becuse that also affects fitment.

From my experience in fitting aftermarket wheels to my ZX and from the measurements I have taken here is my recommendation if you have your heart set on Weld Draglites:

For the front: Weld #90-58038, 15X8 with a 4.5" backspace and a 4x4.5" lug pattern. On that wheel, mount up a 225/50-15 tire. The front is really tight with the strut on the inside and fender clearance on the outside. The 225 tire should clear all of this.

For the rear: Weld #90-59040, 15x9 with a 5.5" backspace. Mount up a 245/50-15 or even 60 series tire. I don't believe you can go with a 10" width on the rear because the inside of the rim will interfere with the trailing arm. The strut clearance is wide open. Tire clearance should be no problem
