Guest Anonymous
COMPRESSION, RATED - The CR value for a specific engine, released to the public as a "Rated" claim by the mfgr. Because all sucn claims are made without specification as to "type", they are superfluous and only presented to provide their customers with some means of a market comparison between different makes and models. This advertized "Rated" value is the one you hear stated by the general public as being the "Compression Ratio" of a given vehicle. As I said before, this is balderdash! The term Compression Ratio is not a ratio at all, but merly an indicaor of what the subject is! In other words, if you tell me you have a CR of 10:1 it means nothing because you haven't given me the "Type" of CR involved so I can evaluate the situation and respond in an intelligent manner!.....Duh.
