Guest 240hybrid
I have a 87 300zx clutch LSD and inbetween shifts and as I let off the gas I hear a klunk come from the diff. Im running a solid diff mount and installed new bushings throughout the entire rear end, so thats not the problem area. I remember there being a little play when turning the driveshaft companion flange, so Im think the backlash needs adjusting? What do you guys think? Also does anyone know if Nissan makes a shim kit for this specific diff.? Im going up to the dealers tomorrow for contact paste and to find out what shims/adjusting washers I can get through them. Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks Chase
Guest tom sixbey
i dont know, but i've got the same problem. I got an R200 from a certain very well known zcar parts house that had more endplay than a bad porno... (how's that for an analogy!) with the solid mount, it almost sounds like someone is striking the underside of the car with a hammer when the rear end clunks, and it makes throttle modulation a little tricky...
