Mr. Killer,

I think there are a lot of people here who can help you, but I, and maybe a few others are still a little unclear where this project is going: A 9 second full race street car convertible? A 383 or 377 but not enough money for a stroked 400? Maybe I'm not in your groove, but I think I am the only V8ZX 2+2 currently on the board and my ride is significantly different than yours. You may have to combine the input of several project cars to pull this off!

o.k. right now im dropping in a 400+ hp 350 its just so i can get it on the road and the suspension, cage, fuelcell, new fuel lines etc.. then once the car is set up im going to be dropping in a stronger motor.im not sure if im going to go with a solid axle and tub it or what im going to do but thats in the future. i want to build it as a street legal car "which in p.a. thats not saying much" i also want to make it a convertable if the car will handle the torque without twisting the frame. its going to take me a year atleast to build my other engine. so i need to know how much power a convertable will handle and are there any tricks to the conversion. i dont like doing things twice so if i cant reinforce the car enought to handle the h.p. i wont chop it. when im say street legal i mean bare min. and we dont have emissions here which is a godsend

Mr killer, :D

I have a 350 chev in my 260 2+2. It doesnt go right now though. Check some past posts on chassis strength. I have had a few good yaks about it in the past. Like you, I also hate the roof and was going to cut it off, but after long thought and a bit of a wet summer I changed my mind. I might try to modify the roof so it looks better although I dont think it will be easy. I will keep everyone up to date when, if ever, I start. I would suggest that a conv. will handle as much power as you can put in it as long as you make it strong. I think John C. said the z like to bend in the middle so thats were you start.

Cheers

Douglas
