Guest CarGuyChuck
I just wanted to give my method for fixing rust and see what y'all thought. This is my first restoration, and since I'm a college student I don't really have a lot of money so I can't afford to pay to have things done. One of the first things I noticed on my ZX was a few rust spots underneath, nothing too serious, but stuff that needed to be fixed. So what I did was take that rust killer paint, ( I got it at a local paint shop, I didn't order anything online) and painted all of the bad spots. Then, thankfully, a guy helping me with stuff gave me an entire can of fiberglass, so I used that to fix all of the little holes. It was a lot easier than sandblasting everything and welding, or cutting out the entire floor pan and welding. I was just wondering if anyone else used this approach and how things are holding up down the road.
Guest nezzie76
Did you paint before you put the fiberglass filler in or did you do it after?
Guest CarGuyChuck
I used that rust killer stuff, then put the filler on, then sprayed some black primer.. it's all underside rust.. there isn't anything on the outer body
