Question: Where do the top nipples on the float bowls plumb too?

Info:

I just got done tearing apart my SUs and fixed them so they dont leak.

Well all when well untill I turned on the car ignition to make sure my electric fan was spinning with the car not running, but fuel pump comes on with ignition as well and all of the sudden fuel just started pooring out of the top nipple on the rear SUs float bowl!

Was scarry because the fuel was sizzling quickly off the headers thought it was gonna blow heh.

Well I just got this car yesterday and I am still new to the Z, but this is a 1976 Z but it dont have the FI its got these SU carbs with 3 screws on top holding down the vacuum can thinggy (forgot what it was called). All the web pages I read today on the SUs dont tell me what this nipple is for and there are no tubes hooked up to them in my car so I would like to know where they are suppost to be plumbed to?

Thanks

They are vents, should plumb to air cleaner. But, if one is pumping out the vent. Then you are having trouble with the float stuck open.

Thank you! :-D

I already readjusted the float on the first carb and its doing much better, I will adjust the second carb come daylight and see how that works.

I already got started building my intake for a 4bbl Edelbrock carb so might just waste my time fiddling with these SUs.
