Guest chip
not sure if this helps but Car magazine from March 1972 gives the ground clearance as 5.5 inches. I dont know where they measure that from.

Guest Aaron
The 240z's were 50 inches tall at thier highest point. 260z-280zx were all 51 inches. Obviously tires, suspension, and whether the car had been on its roof before would affect this mesurment.
Guest Anonymous
I always thought that ground clearance referred to the chassis, like the oan, flywheel housing, trans. and differential and the lowest of these declares the ground clearance? If there is a standard place to measure I don't know it because I never heard of it.
