Guest Anonymous
Hey everyone, My '81 280ZX N/A 2+2 has a bad u-joint. I looked in Hayne's and Chilton's manuals and they both tell me to take out the snaprings with a pair of snapring pliers. Boy, that sounds so easy. But they both fail to tell me what the heck the piece is that's blocking the snaprings and how to get them out. The best way to describe what these pieces are is, they are a circle with cut out V shapes all the way around them. I can't even tell if there is any snaprings there because of these pieces blocking it. Does anyone know what these are and how to get them out? Thanks in advance for anyone that comments. Guest greimann
Are you talking about the driveshaft or half shaft? If half shaft, the snap rings are more like c-clips that you drive out with a drift. No pliers needed. If driveshaft, they are not replaceable, according to the manual.
