ZR8ED
Anyone catch the race today? Scott Pruett won with a Jag XKR. It was an excellent day, and the race was run in my backyard at Mosport just east of Toronto. If ya saw the rub contact/ cut tire/ spin into the wall at turn 5, I was right there!! 50ft away! The vettes could not fight off the Jags this day! Lots of racing action. There were 4 races today, and that was the feature race. One series called the Street Stock Challenge Series, involves ALL Nissan cars. Namely the Nissan Sentra XE. It is an professional entry level series to keep costs down, etc.. Wicked race! and just to demonstrate HOW AWSOME Nissan cars can be, there was a tangle with the top 5 cars exiting turn 5 (hairpin..also known as Moss' corner) The lead car was tapped from behind, spun around into the armco and took some hits from 3 other cars...one tried to avoid, and put two wheels off the track..and proceeded to partially run up atop this spun car, while being pushed by another racer behind him! His car then rolled over sideways TWICE!.. with the hood rolling over along the armco, and skidding on his roof, then flipped over again! His car then spun around and landed facing the correct way all four wheels on the ground!! AND THEN HE KEPT RACING!! The marshals of course made him pull over about 400ft up the track!!! He actually kept the car going and tried to stay in the race!!! UnFricken believeable!!!! He got a standing ovation from the crowd at turn 5 for the crash, and the sheer will to keep the car going!! It took them 1 hour, and 3 tow trucks, and at least 15 guys to repair the armco!! thats how bad it got beat up! Yea for Nissan!! Excellent racing and sportsmanship!!!
