Guest thebarracuda
My flasher relay crapped out. I need a new one quick. (emergency flashers work, blinkers dont) I took my 79 280zx in to get a few things fixed (shocks replaced, blinkers fixed, panels welded) It looks like they replaced my flasher relay with a 2 prong generic relay. will ANY 3 prong relay work so long as it fits? I'm heading off to the junkyard pretty soon. please help.
Guest greimann
Not just any 3 prong relay. They come in a stupid variety of prong configurations. Looking at the prong side of the flasher, the terminals should be labeled in the order of left to right, E L B. Where the E and the B prongs are vertical and the L Is horizontal. Something like this: | E | B . _ L
Guest thebarracuda
I found that "if the turn signal fails on both sides, the fault may be due to a blown fuse, faulty flasher unit or switch, or a broken or loose connection.." checked and the fuse is not blown. I looked closer to the female end of the relay and ithas written on it "pass, drive, and ground" the other, 2 prong one has X and L written on it confused? me too.
