Guest Anonymous Posted April 16, 2002 Share Posted April 16, 2002 The difference is "Bare" means no valves, springs, retainers, or seals thus the reason for the lower price. If you want to bolt them on, you want to get the Assembled set. The bare heads would be better if you want to select your own valve/spring combo. I would suggest purchasing the bare heads and take them to a machine shop and let them grind the seats and install better parts than what a hundred bucks would buy. Anyway I hope this helps.
